Lockstep ("Lockstep", "we", "our", "us") describes in this Privacy Policy how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our app, website, and related services (the "Services").
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three categories:
- Information you provide: account data (email, auth identifiers), commitments, reflections, voice notes, and support messages.
- Automatically collected information: device/browser details, app events, diagnostics, crash data, IP address, and security logs.
- Transaction and payment information: stake amount, transaction status, and payment intent metadata. Card data is processed by payment providers such as Stripe and is not stored by Lockstep.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the Services, including commitment tracking and account authentication.
- Process and manage transactions and payment authorization/capture flows.
- Support voice note and intent-analysis features when you choose to use them.
- Maintain safety, detect abuse/fraud, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. Microphone and Voice Notes
Microphone permission is requested only when you choose to record a voice note. Voice recordings are uploaded only when you intentionally submit them in-app.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers that help us run the Services, such as cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, and payment processors. We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain security and records, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods vary by data type.
6. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
- You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data, subject to applicable law.
- You can request account deletion using the process at Account Deletion.
- You can disable microphone permission anytime from your device settings.
- You may opt out of non-essential communications through app/email settings where available.
7. International Data Transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child provided data to us, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will show a revised "Last updated" date.
